Types of Emergency Dental Services We Provide

At our Hayat dental clinic, we handle a wide range of dental emergencies. Our experienced dentists use modern equipment and gentle techniques to diagnose your problem quickly and provide effective treatment.

Crowns Replacement

Sudden or persistent tooth pain can indicate an underlying problem such as infection, decay, or a cracked tooth. Our emergency dental team will identify the cause of your pain and provide immediate relief. We use gentle techniques and can offer pain management options to ensure your comfort throughout treatment.

Root Canal Treatment

Accidents happen, and a chipped or broken tooth needs prompt attention to prevent further damage. Whether your tooth has been damaged during sport, from biting something hard, or through an accident, we can restore it using modern restorative techniques. Depending on the extent of the damage, treatment options may include dental bonding, crowns, or veneers.

Emergency Extractions

A knocked-out tooth is a true dental emergency that requires immediate care. If you act quickly and the tooth is handled correctly, there is a good chance it can be reimplanted successfully. Contact us immediately if you have lost a tooth due to trauma. Our team will guide you on how to preserve the tooth and see you as soon as possible.

When a filling or crown falls out, it can expose the underlying tooth structure to bacteria and cause sensitivity or pain. We can replace lost fillings and crowns promptly to protect your tooth and restore normal function. Do not delay treatment, as the exposed tooth can become damaged or infected.

Broken or Chipped Teeth Repair

A dental abscess is a serious condition that can cause severe pain, swelling, and fever. Left untreated, the infection can spread to other parts of your body. Our emergency dentists can drain the abscess, prescribe appropriate antibiotics, and treat the underlying cause to prevent the infection from returning.

If your dentures have broken or become damaged, it can affect your ability to eat, speak, and smile confidently. We offer emergency denture repairs to get you back to normal as quickly as possible. In some cases, we may be able to repair your dentures on the same day.

What to Do Before Your Emergency Appointment

When you contact Hayat Dental, describe your symptoms as clearly as possible. This helps our team assess the urgency of your situation and prepare for your arrival. We can also provide guidance on what to do while you are on your way to the clinic.

If you have knocked out a tooth, pick it up by the crown (the white part) and avoid touching the root. If possible, gently rinse it with milk or saline solution and try to place it back in the socket. If you cannot reimplant it, store it in milk or hold it inside your cheek. Bring any broken tooth fragments with you to your appointment.

Gently rinse your mouth with warm salt water to help clean the area and reduce bacteria. This can also help with swelling and provide some temporary relief from discomfort.

If you need pain relief before your appointment, use paracetamol or ibuprofen as directed. Avoid aspirin, as it can thin your blood and increase bleeding if you have an open wound or require extraction.

If you have swelling on your face or jaw, apply a cold compress wrapped in a cloth to the outside of your cheek. Apply for 15 to 20 minutes at a time to help reduce swelling and numb the area.

When you arrive at our clinic, let us know about any medications you are currently taking, including over-the-counter medications and supplements. This helps us provide safe and appropriate treatment.

Yes, we offer same-day appointments for dental emergencies. We understand that dental pain and injuries cannot wait, so we keep appointment slots available specifically for urgent cases. Contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to see you on the same day.

Both options are available. You can book an emergency appointment online or by phone, or you can walk into our Sydney clinic during opening hours. For the shortest wait time, we recommend calling ahead so we can prepare for your arrival and minimise your time in the waiting room.

Act quickly, as time is critical. Pick up the tooth by the crown only, avoiding the root. If it is dirty, gently rinse it with milk or saline. Try to place it back in the socket if possible. If not, store it in milk or inside your cheek. Contact us immediately and come to the clinic as soon as you can. The sooner you receive treatment, the better the chance of saving your tooth.

The cost of emergency dental treatment varies depending on the type of treatment required. During your appointment, we will assess your situation and explain all treatment options along with their costs before proceeding. We accept all major health funds and offer flexible payment options to help make treatment accessible.

Most health funds provide some coverage for emergency dental treatment, though the level of cover varies depending on your policy. We accept all major health funds and have HICAPS facilities for on-the-spot claiming. We recommend contacting your health fund to check your level of cover, or our team can help you understand your benefits when you arrive.

A dental emergency is any situation that requires immediate dental care to relieve severe pain, stop bleeding, or save a tooth. Common emergencies include severe toothache, knocked-out teeth, broken or chipped teeth, lost fillings or crowns, dental abscesses, and injuries to the mouth or jaw. If you are unsure whether your situation is an emergency, contact us and we will advise you.

For temporary pain relief, take over-the-counter pain medication such as paracetamol or ibuprofen as directed. Avoid aspirin as it can increase bleeding. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water to help reduce bacteria and inflammation. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek if you have swelling. Avoid very hot or cold foods and drinks, and try to chew on the opposite side of your mouth.

When you arrive, our team will assess your condition and take any necessary X-rays to diagnose the problem. Your dentist will explain what is causing your symptoms and discuss treatment options with you. We will provide immediate pain relief and address the urgent issue. Depending on your situation, you may need follow-up treatment to fully resolve the problem.

Yes, we welcome children and families at our Sydney clinic. Our gentle, patient-focused approach helps children feel comfortable during what can be a stressful experience. We take the time to explain procedures in a child-friendly way and work with parents to ensure their child receives the best possible care.
