01
Their old crowns, resin veneers and fillings were failing: chipped, discoloured and no longer matching. Their bite had also started to shift.
02
The teeth needed to be repositioned and the gums made healthy before new work was made, so the new veneers would fit and last.
03
Replacing the old work straight away would have locked the teeth into their shifted positions. We got the foundations right first: healthy gums, then Invisalign to correct the angles and positions.
Whitening set the shade before four new porcelain veneers replaced the old front work.
04
1

2

3
Whitening
The natural teeth were whitened to set the shade.
4
Four porcelain veneers
Four new porcelain veneers replaced the old front work.

Gums that need attention before new work
If a few of these sound familiar, a consultation is the best next step. We explain your options, including the smallest treatment that will do the job.
This summary is based on the treating dentist’s account of the case. Every mouth is different, so your options, timing and costs depend on your own assessment.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Teeth can drift with age, wear, gum changes or lost teeth. A shifting bite can put old dental work under strain.
New work placed on teeth that are out of position, or on unhealthy gums, may not fit well or last. Fixing the foundations first protects the new veneers.
Sometimes, when enough healthy tooth remains. Otherwise a new crown may be needed. We assess each tooth.
