Her upper left front tooth had previously had root canal treatment and had turned a dark grey-brown colour over time. It stood out clearly every time she smiled.
With her daughter’s wedding coming up, she wanted to feel comfortable smiling in photos and in front of family and friends. Treatment needed to be finished in time.

When a tooth has had a root canal, it no longer has a living nerve or blood supply. Over time, changes inside the tooth can cause it to darken from within.
The two upper front teeth also sat at uneven lengths, which drew more attention to the darker tooth. Crowns were planned to address both the colour and the length.

Dr Abhishek planned teeth whitening followed by porcelain crowns on the two upper front teeth. Crowning both together meant they could be made to match exactly in colour, shape and length.
A crown’s colour cannot be changed once it is made, so the crowns were matched to her whitened natural teeth.

The two upper front teeth were prepared for crowns, and their length adjusted to sit level.

The porcelain crowns were checked for colour, shape, fit and bite, then bonded in place.
Completed over four appointments in about one month.

The dark tooth is now covered. Her two upper front teeth match in colour and sit level with each other. The neighbouring teeth were not part of this treatment, so some natural variation remains on either side.
Treatment was completed in time for her daughter’s wedding.

Regular check-ups and cleans help keep the crowns and surrounding teeth healthy.
Touch-up whitening may be needed over time, as natural teeth can darken while crowns keep their colour.
Crown care matters. Crowns can chip or wear, so avoid biting hard objects like ice or pens.
