CASE STUDY · INVISALIGN FOR CROWDING
A young professional who had recently moved to Sydney came to us about crowded, overlapping teeth and a narrow smile.

01
She came to us about crowded, overlapping teeth and a narrow smile.
02
The crowding made some teeth hard to clean, and her gums bled in those areas. Straightening the teeth would help with cleaning as well as appearance.
03
Invisalign let her straighten her teeth discreetly while working. Because the aligners come out, she could brush and floss properly throughout treatment, which mattered with gums that were already bleeding.
The movements were planned on a 3D scan to widen the smile as well as straighten it.
04
1
Digital scan and plan
A 3D scan was used to plan the tooth movements and widen the smile.
2
Invisalign
About 12 months of aligners straightened the overlapping teeth.
3
Retainers
Retainers were fitted to keep the result.

05
Her teeth are straighter and her smile is wider. Because the teeth are easier to clean, her gums bleed less than before.
06
Wearing retainers every night
Regular cleans to keep the gums healthy

Fees depend on how much movement your teeth need and how long treatment takes. After your consultation you get a written treatment plan with costs, before anything starts. Payment plans are available for orthodontic treatment, so the cost can be spread over the course of treatment. See what affects the cost of Invisalign.

This summary is based on the treating dentist’s account of the case. Every mouth is different, so your options, timing and costs depend on your own assessment.
COMMON QUESTIONS
They can contribute. Overlapping teeth trap plaque where a brush and floss can’t reach easily, and that plaque irritates the gums. Straightening makes cleaning easier.
In many cases, yes. Aligners can gently expand a narrow arch so more teeth show when you smile, as in this case.
Long term. Most people wear retainers at night indefinitely to keep teeth from drifting back.
