Most cases run somewhere between six and eighteen months depending on how far your teeth need to travel. Aligners need to be worn around 22 hours a day, which means everything except eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing. That number matters more than any other factor in the treatment. People who wear them properly finish on schedule. People who leave them out finish late, or not at all, and we would rather be honest about that before you start than halfway through.
Teeth have a memory and will drift back toward where they started if nothing holds them. Every aligner case finishes with a retainer, and wearing it is the difference between a result that lasts decades and one that quietly unravels over a couple of years. We build retainers into the plan and the price from the beginning so it is never an unwelcome surprise at the end. If you had braces years ago and stopped wearing your retainer, that is one of the most common reasons people come back to us as adults.
Cost depends on how much movement is involved, so a short cosmetic case and a full arch correction are not comparable. Hayat Dental is led by Masi, our practice principal and an experienced Oral Health Therapist. Masi graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Sydney in 2018 and has worked across private practice and specialist periodontics, with particular strength in gum health. The brand matters far less than how well the case is planned and supervised, and we will recommend the system that suits your teeth rather than the one with the most advertising behind it.
We would advise against them, and this is worth understanding rather than taking on trust. Moving teeth is a clinical procedure that puts pressure on the roots and the surrounding bone. Without an in-person examination and X-rays, there is no way to know whether your gums are healthy enough or whether existing fillings, crowns or hidden decay will cause problems. Nobody is monitoring the movement as it happens, so if something goes wrong, it goes wrong unsupervised. If cost is the concern, come in for the free consultation, and we will give you a real number to compare against.
